Keep It Genuine
If your text sounds too robotic, too excited, or too salesy, you may want to switch it up. Read your message out loud before sending it! You can also add emojis to keep it casual and friendly.
Keep It Brief
Be mindful of how much you type before you send it to your list. SMS messages go up to 320 characters and anything beyond that is an MMS. We allow up to 1600 characters. If sending MMS, we recommend adding a graphic or your logo.
Don’t Overdo It
In most cases, we recommend sending no more than 1-2 messages per week to your entire list and make sure to communicate with more than just donation requests or "asks". Feel free to message your segmented lists with more frequency!
Consider What Time You Send Messages
Aside from emergencies and sudden changes or event updates, it’s best to send messages during normal hours: 8am-8pm. The best window for increased engagement is between 10am-3pm.
Check Your Inbox Regularly
There's a good chance you'll have people reply with questions, requests, etc. You can respond to incoming messages from your Inbox (make sure you have email/push notifications enabled).
Reply to Incoming Responses
Every once in a while, you’ll receive a reply in your inbox. You’ll be notified with an email with a link to respond in your dashboard. You can turn off notifications in your account user settings. If you receive negative replies or someone needs help opting out, you can do so manually by clicking the contact and pushing the red button with the bell icon.

How does funding my account work?
If your account is running low and you need to recharge, you can do so under the account tab. Add/manage your payment and pay-as-you-go in increments of $50 or at a bulk discount of $500 for only $450. We also offer discounted rates for accounts that send in large quantities. Message [email protected] for more information on our discounted rates. Keep in mind longer messages and MMS cost more pennies.
How do I add contacts in the Rally Platform?
The best way is to import an Excel/CSV file. People can also text a Keyword Workflow (ie. Text HELLO to 555-555-5555) or you can integrate your contacts from your CRM.
