Your 10DLC pre-submission checklist

Run through this checklist before you hit submit. It is the best way to catch the small problems that lead to a rejection. Think of it as your pre-flight check.

A successful 10DLC application comes down to four keys: clear supporter consent, the right privacy policy clause, consistent branding, and a careful final review. This checklist walks you through all four before you submit.

1. The click test

Click every single link you have provided. Make sure each one is live and publicly accessible from anywhere in the world. A broken or private link, or a 404 error, is an easy rejection to avoid.

  • ☐ Website link works and is public

  • ☐ Privacy policy link works and is public

  • ☐ Terms of service link works and is public

  • ☐ Any screenshot or form links (Google Drive, etc.) are shared and viewable

2. The proof check

Confirm you have included proof for every way a supporter can consent. If you use more than one opt-in method, each one needs its own proof.

  • ☐ Web form opt-in: live URL or screenshot provided

  • ☐ Verbal opt-in: verbatim phone-bank or in-person script provided

  • ☐ Physical form: clear photo of the pledge card or signup sheet uploaded and linked

  • ☐ SMS keyword opt-in: source, keyword, and auto-reply provided

  • ☐ Every method you use is documented, not just one

3. The identity check

Give your organization information one last look. The name on the registration should match the name on the website, and your contact details should use your organization domain.

  • ☐ Organization name matches across registration, website, and messages

  • ☐ Website and email use your organization domain (not a personal Gmail)

  • ☐ For chapters or affiliates: the local entity is front and center, each one has its own campaign

4. The brand tag

Check your sample messages one more time.

  • ☐ Every sample message clearly states your organization name

  • ☐ A sample is included for each message type you send (appeals and transactional)

  • ☐ The first message includes HELP and STOP instructions

  • ☐ Frequency and "message and data rates may apply" are included

5. The privacy clause

  • ☐ Your privacy policy includes the clause: "No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes."

  • ☐ The privacy policy is accessible during the consent step

Need a privacy policy and terms to link to? Rally provides customizable templates that already include the required clause: rallycorp.com/sms-privacy and rallycorp.com/sms-terms.

Final review

One last check, one final read-through, and you are ready to submit. When you document exactly how supporters find you and how they agree to hear from you, you are proving you are a trustworthy sender. That is what turns these rules from a hurdle into a foundation of trust with every supporter you text.
