Creating a Ringless Voicemail Campaign (RVM)

Create Ringless Voicemail campaigns for announcements, invites, and engagement.

Updated over a week ago

1. Create a new campaign

From the left navigation menu, go to Campaigns and click New in the upper-right corner.

2. Name your campaign

A default name is automatically generated using today’s date and time. You can keep it or rename it to something more meaningful.

Next, choose the phone number you want the campaign to send from.

If you want to send from your platform number(s) to show your Caller ID and/or have people ring you back, contact support to set up a dedicated number pool. It is free for small batch sends. This article explains more.

Be sure to select Ringless Voicemail Campaign before moving forward.

Important Note: You can only drop about 50 messages per day per sending number, so we automatically rotate through our pool of numbers to ensure your messages get delivered.

3. Upload your voice message

Upload your audio file as a .wav or .mp3. Files must be under 2MB.

Once your file is validated, you’ll see a confirmation that it has been attached successfully. Then click Next.

If the media file is compatible, you will see that the media is attached successfully, and you can proceed to the next step.

4. Add your contacts

Just like a text campaign, you can search, filter, or select contacts by tag, name, or group. Choose the recipients you want to include and add them to the campaign.

Cost Reminder: Depending on your plan, each delivered voicemail costs around $0.10 per contact.

If you upload a smaller group, contact loading should finish in under a minute. Larger lists (hundreds or thousands) may take a bit longer—please wait until they finish processing before moving on.

5. Send or schedule your voicemail

Once your contacts have fully loaded, you can:

  • Send immediately, or

  • Schedule for a specific date and time

We recommend sending during reasonable daytime hours in your recipients’ local time zone. See the note below for more information.

6. Confirm campaign delivery

After sending or scheduling your campaign, you’ll see a confirmation message at the top of the screen.

Once messages are delivered, you’ll see a blue checkmark next to each contact indicating successful delivery.

Once the number of contacts you selected has loaded completely, you can choose to send immediately or schedule by picking a date and time.

Pro Tips for Better Results

Make it personal and human. The best-performing campaigns usually feature:

  • A familiar voice

  • Someone connected to your mission

  • Community leaders, staff, or someone impacted by your work

Even better—pair your voicemail with a text message for multichannel engagement. You can also trigger follow-up automation with keywords or workflows.
