When creating your campaign, you have up to 1600 characters to use, but the amount you choose to send will be sent as an SMS if 320 characters or less or MMS for anything greater than 320. If you send MMS messages, know that your message may be sent in multiple segments (also known as character batches).

Make sure to pay attention to our character counter when you create your text message campaigns!

Additionally, any messages sent with an image attached (such as a gif, logo, or graphic), no matter the character length of the text, will also be sent as MMS. The image, which counts as one segment/credit, gets sent as the first message,e and the text portion is sent second.

Note: The emoji image shows up because of a written code when using emojis. The written code is what is counted towards characters in SMS and MMS.

Therefore, most emojis are counted as two or more characters.
