Want to set up a Rally form that sends an automatic text message when someone completes it? This guide walks you through the process of creating your form, connecting it to a workflow, and ensuring everything works as expected.

✅ What You’ll Need

For your form to trigger a text message, three things must be correctly set up:

  1. A published workflow with a keyword

  2. A verified platform number (local, toll-free, or shortcode)

  3. A form on Rally.so connected to that same keyword and number

If any of those aren’t properly linked, the workflow message won’t send.


🧩 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Set Up Your Workflow in the Rally Platform

  • Go to the Workflows tab

  • Create or edit a workflow (read this article if you need help setting one up)

  • Assign a keyword (e.g., FORM, GIVE, UPDATES, NEWSLETTER)

  • Add prompts (optional) and a final response message — this is what gets sent to the contact (after the prompts, when included)

  • Make sure the workflow is published

  • Ensure it's assigned to a verified platform number
    (Check the status in your Rally dashboard — verified numbers show a checkmark and green “verified” label)

Only published workflows tied to verified platform numbers will work.


Step 2: Create Your Form on Rally.so

  • Log in to your Rally.so account

  • Click Contact Form or Pop-Up Form

  • Under Settings, select:

    • The platform number used in your published workflow

    • The keyword assigned to that workflow

🧠 This step connects your form to the automation. If the keyword or number don’t match exactly—or the number isn’t verified—the message won’t send.


Step 3: Customize & Publish the Form

  • Add fields like name, email, and phone number

  • Use the preview pane to see updates in real time

  • Choose one of our preset layouts or design your own

  • Click Publish

  • Share your form via:

    • Embed code (for your website)

    • Hosted share link (hosted by Rally)

📊 Where Submissions Go

All form submissions are saved as contact records in your Rally platform account when a workflow is successfully triggered. You can also access them in the Data tab and export to CSV.

  • ✅ The platform number is verified

  • ✅ The form uses the same keyword and platform number as the workflow
